This post sort of ties in with a previous post I made this evening - Voicemail Full - Do you call back or move on to someone else?
If you call a professional - how long do you give them to call you back before you feel that they don't care about your business?
For me, the maximum is about three hours. If I call a fellow Realtor with an out of area referral or call an insurance person, etc., I expect to hear from them within about three hours. Granted, not everyone is sitting ontop of their phone and we do go on the road with customers, however I feel a lack of customer service if I don't hear from someone within three hours. I'll even be generous and say five hours on the latter end because sometimes delays are unavoidable.
It is amazing how many times I call people and don't receive return calls until the next day - or even longer. By that time, I've already moved on.
What do you think? What is a resonable response time to expect?

I love being a part of the Active Rain community. Every morning I wake up and the very first thing I do is to log on to Active Rain to begin my day. I read blog posts during my lunch break and finish up with a bedtime nightcap. Active Rain has become so much a part of my life. Thank you all for making it such a nice place to spend my time :)
I'd like to take a tally. If you are a new client calling a professional for your own personal business - and you call that professional for the first time and their voicemail is full - do you try back or do you move on to the next person?
I have an acquiantance who is a Realtor. There have been about ten times in the last year when I have called this person and his voicemail is full. I tell him that he is probably losing business. This got me to thinking - lets say you decide to buy a vacation home out of state and you go on line and you find an agent that looks great from their web site. You call them and their voicemail is full. Do you assume that they do not have their act together, do not appreciate their customers enough to clear their voicemail and move on?
I just wouldn't want to deal with someone whose voicemail is full. In my opinion, if someone has to scroll through 20 messages to get to something, they are not organized. They should be writing these messages down.
